Our Story

Jay Hughes is the President of Sunnydale Electric Inc. He was born in Torrance California and moved to San Diego at a very early age. He moved to Ramona from Tierra Santa with his family in 1978. Jay graduated from Ramona High School in 1981. He entered Christian Heritage College in 1987 and graduated in 1991. Jay worked for the previous President of Sunnydale Electric, Dale Timblin, for 15 years before purchasing the company in 1998.  Mr. Timblin was an excellent role model for all his employees.  Mr. Timblin set the bar high with his emphasis on customer satisfaction and quality workmanship. It is a bar that Jay and his crew continue to strive to perfect. Jay’s responsibilities include the electrical design work and electrical calculations via Auto-Cad, estimating, invoicing and scheduling for Sunnydale Electric Inc. 

Jay and his beautiful wife Dena have two wonderful boys, Calvin and David. God has blessed Jay and his family, and they enjoy worshiping Him. They also enjoy family get-togethers, golfing, walking/hiking, biking, playing football, baseball, Frisbee golf, barbecues, and just hanging out with friends. Jay and his family have served Ramona through various ministries at Mountain View Community Church for over twenty years. Jay has served as a youth worker, a small group leader, a Sunday school teacher and an Elder.
